The Tewksbury First Aid & Rescue has never charged for our services and relies on donations from you, our friends and neighbors, to fund our operations. More than 75% of our annual budget is funded through our annual campaign, fundraisers such as the annual Tewksbury Harvest Festival and donations from our patients and community members. This money supports our normal operations, but we need you to make a special gift this year so that we can replace our aging fleet and be prepared to respond in your time of need in the years to come.

There are more than 1,900 households in Tewksbury. If only 250 of those
families donated $250 each for five consecutive years,

The Rescue Squad operates six emergency vehicles, including two ambulances, a rescue truck, a chief’s vehicle, a first responder vehicle and an off-road vehicle. One of our ambulances, along with the first responder vehicle and the rescue truck, are 20 years old or older. These vehicles are expensive to maintain and lack many of the safety features available on newer vehicles that are critical to the personal safety of our crews and patients. We are in the process of replacing these aged vehicles, but we cannot do it without your help. A new ambulance costs more than $375,000, which is money we simply do not have.
In the past, we have borrowed and repaid money to purchase vehicles but higher interest rates are making that more expensive. In addition, our annual call volume has steadily increased over the last few years. That, combined with extraordinary inflation, translates to significantly higher costs for supplies and fuel, as well as increased maintenance and repair costs for our vehicles.
