The following letter to the editor appeared in the July, 2024 edition of The Tewksbury Times:
Dear Editor:
This is a deep thank you to Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad for your visit to us on the evening of June 10.
Whenever I look out my window or walk out my door or drive down the road, I fall in love again and again with the exquisite beauty of Tewksbury. But last Friday that love and beauty actually walked through my front door.
A simple call for a scary blood pressure spike brought, within five minutes, 2 police officers, 2 emergency volunteers, 2 medics and a state of the art ambulance.
While each person who arrived to help us emanated total professionalism and excellence. it was more than that. Each person was love-in-action itself in their concern for my husband and for me. These were literally some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. And when the crisis was over, they were all able to laugh with us with deep humor and joy.
I cannot say enough about these wonderful humans. I always say how blessed we are to live in this paradise and now that feeling includes the incredible emergency services our town provides. We live in beauty on every level.
Deep thanks to all of you.
